Agfa Accuset 1000

This imagesetter can produce output on film or RC paper. It can achieve tonal resolutions of up to 3000 dpi and spatial resolutions up to 200 lpi. It is used for producing prepress output which is then used by our camera department to create plates for the presses. The advantage of the imagesetter is its perfect black coverage as it uses a photographic process to create your image as opposed to a laserprinters electrostatic process which can cause uneven black coverage.

Xerox DocuTech™ 6100 Series Production Publisher System

The Xerox Docutech 6100 High Production Series of printers are a high speed printer/copier that are capable of accepting input using traditional scanning methods from hard copy documents as well as electronic input from the network. If your computer is connected to the campus network, you can use our order submission page located at http://printing.uiowa.edu/webprint to send a file electronically to the Copy Center of your choice. But what does this do for me? you might ask. Sending your documents electronically essentially eliminates the third generation image degradation that you normally associate with copiers. Every copy you print is a first generation copy. What this basically comes down to is a better image for your buck. The University of Iowa has 1 Xerox Docutech 6135 High Production printer located at Boyd Law Building (BLB).

The DocuColor 250 is a single-pass, color laser printer-copier product made for color professionals. It offers impeccable image quality. HP DesignJet 5500

The HP DesignJet 5500is a full color, photo-quality 60 " wide by as-much-as-you-wanna-pay-for printer. This printer is primarily used for large display posters. Examples of work commonly done on this printer include theatre posters, display posters/panels for conferences and banners.
